Jiyeon Lee

For Jiyeon Lee, familiar places often become gateways to memory. 기억은 하나의 방처럼 마음속에 자리 잡는다.
한 켠에는 웃음이 스며든 가구들이 놓여 있고, 다른 쪽에서는 파도 소리가 잔잔히 흐른다. 형체보다 감정으로 이루어진 사물들이 공간 안에 조용히 배치된다.
어린 시절, 등대 아래 가족과 나누던 바닷가의 오후. 낚싯줄을 드리우던 손끝의 따뜻함, 말없이 나란히 앉아 바라보던 수평선.
지금 내가 사는 집은, 그 기억 위에 놓인 또 하나의 풍경이다.
오래된 추억과 오늘의 삶이 나란히 놓인 이 서랍은 잊힌 듯 남아 있는, 나만의 마음속 방이다. 이 그림은 그 서랍을 살며시 열어 본 순간이다.
또 다른 방에는, 일상의 가구들과 계절이 섞인다. 어떤 날은 의자들이 나무가 되고, 어떤 기억은 계절처럼 벽을 넘는다. 그렇게 시간은 방 속을 천천히 흘러가며, 나를 만든다.
이 작업은 두 개의 방에 담긴 나의 기억이다.

A Park in a Room presents a surreal interior where the atmosphere of a park exists within an enclosed room, exploring themes of memory, rest, and inner emotional space. Trees, figures, chairs, and furniture coexist inside the confined structure, blurring the boundary between reality and imagination.
Each object appears to hold a different moment in time, symbolizing fragmented memories quietly resurfacing within the mind. The contrast between the deep blue walls and warm orange floor creates both emotional depth and warmth, while the small human figures among the trees suggest solitude, connection, and contemplation.
This work visualizes the invisible “room of memory” that exists within everyone.
